A Forwarded E-mail...

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed. Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference--just imagine the coincidence. When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful. At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient needed money more. I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.

I VOTED TODAY!!

Yes, I am proud to say that I voted today. I am sad to say that this was my very first time to vote ever. I guess I decided to grow up and pay attention. Voting early was so easy. I was in and out in 5 mins! No wait. So all you people go vote early (for McCain) and make it easier for yourself.

A few reasons I voted for McCain:

- his 'family first' outlook
*supported the Family Medical Leave Act
* co-sponsored the Family Friendly Workplace Act
*proposed a new 'Home Plan' - would give homeowners the opportunity to refinance their home for a manageable mortgage that reflects their home's market value
*believes that this rescue plan should be focused on keeping homeowners in their homes and not on bailing out other irresponsible financial institutions.
*proposes a one-year spending freeze to evaluate effectiveness of programs
*believes it should be our decision which doctors we see and what health care is best for our family. Doctors and quality of care should not be determined by the government.
*pro-life - wants to overturn Roe v. Wade, giving the abortion question back to each state.
*believes the institution of marriage is a union between one man and one woman.
*believes all parents should be able to choose what school their child will attend.
*served in the military -experience in the military-P.O.W.
*is an actual parent of military children in war




I mean where is Obama getting all that money? Where has he always had money from? How could he afford all that college and school loans? And still live in a big ol' house right after college? How do we know he isn't getting money from America's enemies? It can't all be from Oprah. The guy has his own cable channel. Have other candidates done that and I just didn't notice? It's just strange for him to be so calm and collected ALL the time (almost inhuman). I guess he has so much money, he doesn't mind spreading his wealth around and wants us all to do the same. I know he is popular with our young culture and in Hollywood, but our culture and especially Hollywood, doesn't determine what is right and wrong. Just because certain things are "acceptable" in our day and age, doesn't mean it's right. There is true right and wrong - and it comes straight from the word of God. As the new and next generation, we need to stand up for what is right. We need to hold on to our values and morals and teach them to our children. Culture and government just keep blurring the lines and then crossing them one at a time. We need someone with those good values and morals. We need someone who is honest, decisive, and experienced. Nobody is perfect and no one can make everyone happy, but I truly believe that he has this country's best interest at heart, we know where his loyalties are, and he will do the best job he can for us. Well...you get the point.

Late Night at the King Tut exibit!

This past Friday, we went to 'Late Night at the Museum' and saw the King Tut exhibit. Every 3rd Friday of the month, the DMA stays open until midnight. They serve free starbucks! (only about 3 kinds that are pre-made) I recommend getting there earlier, like 6:30. They have a lot of cool lectures at 7pm, which we missed. I just love learning about the Egyptians. The exhibit takes about 1 1/2 hours to get through. I also recommend getting a drink, using the potty, and not going really late at night. If you are tired, it takes away from enjoying all the artifacts and history. And, FYI, Tut's actual sarcophagus isn't there. But, there are many other cool things to see. Get the audio tour. Oh, and borrow someones membership card if you can. You can get discounts and free parking.

Glen Roy Crane, my grandfather, passed away today. Dad was with him as he died in his sleep late this morning. He would have been 91 years old tomorrow.

Papaw-

Today you are finally home. I miss you so much already. You mean the world to me and I can't wait until we see each other again. I have always admired and loved you more than you could have ever known. I believe in my heart that soon you will have a glorifed and perfect body and now you will never feel pain again. Thank you so much for all you did here on earth for me and our family. You filled our lives with so much joy. Until we meet again, have an awesome time hanging with Jesus. I love you.

Recent outings!

A few weeks ago we finally got to hang out with Jen and Rob at the Foundation Room (at the House of Blues) in Dallas. I loved that place! It was not to crowded, great food and drinks, cool decor, smoke-free, and had a good dj. I just adore Jennifer - we went to high school and were in drill team together. We are just now getting to hang out more. She is now a fabulous real-estate agent here in the area and has a super fabulous boyfriend! :) We love hanging out with yall! Thanks!

-So I should be doing laundry and cleaning house like a good wife, but #1 I am getting addicted to this blogging thing and #2 I think I am gonna go back to bed for a bit! I had 1 to many and a late night... Doesn't it stink that housework is what you have to get done on your days off? Having a messy house makes me stressed out. OH and James says I need to go to the grocery store again because we need milk and eggs - "those are staples, why didn't you get them the other day?" - Well we weren't out of them the other day! :)
