For my 30th Birthday we decided to go to Fireside Pies in Grapevine and then to Glass Cactus to see Le Freak. Dinner was fun and I just love Le Freak, they are so fun to watch.

For the day of my actual birthday -after getting over being mad at the cop that gave me a ticket that day - My sweetie took me to Del Frisco's! I had never been. The cheesecake was the best I had ever tasted!

Entering the Last Czar Suite - Room #7
Anniversary Dinner at the Dragonfly
May 3rd was our first wedding anniversary! We decided to have a close weekend getaway at Hotel Zaza in uptown Dallas. We got there late on Saturday night and found out they upgraded us to one of their Magnificent Seven suites called "The Last Czar". I was way to big for just the two of us but fabulous! 2000 plus square feet, 2 bedrooms, 3 king beds, 4 pottys, full kitchen - the works. I have to say that the room was probably the nicest part of our stay. The beds were nice and plush, but we didn't sleep very well. I think the pillows were too thick, I couldn't get comfortable. They must have upgraded us for free because no one was using it and they wanted us to be impressed and tell all our friends - plus it was our first visit and our anniversary and such. They did have champagne and chocolate covered strawberries along with a sweet note waiting for us on arrival. That was a nice extra (and free) touch.
On Sunday we had breakfast delivered ($40 later). I gave the room service guy a $20 and he said he would bring me change, to tip him with - he never came back. We then went to the "Zaspa" for our couples massage. The Spa was very nice - cool atmosphere. The staff was very nice as were the massages. I just wish they lasted longer :) They then led us to a private whirlpool bath - that was fun. After that we went to lunch across the street at Trulucks. We were so full and relaxed that we took naps and watched the Mavs game in the room. Last we had our anniversary dinner at the Dragonfly. It was way too hyped up in my opinion. I thought it would be a lot bigger, fancier, but mostly have amazing food. We were pretty disappointed with the food, especially for the price. The best thing we had was James' carrot mango soup as an appetizer. Plus, we got to see a big nerdy white guy meet his black diva call girl at the bar across from our dinner table and then leave- to go upstairs I guess. That really set the mood! HA. Weird!
We came home today, back to reality :(
I love my sweet husband and I love being anywhere with him. All in all, I definitely recommend any room there to stay. The staff were all very nice I was impressed with the upgrade. But eat elsewhere, it will be cheaper and better food! I also like Coldwater Creek spa a bit better. Oh, plus it was $20 per night just to park there!
Anywho-
One year down, here's to many more happy years to come. :)
